Albert Lee and Gerry Hogan lost recordings on Bandcamp

Post by Matt Dawson »

In 2011 I recorded an album of my songs as a trio with Albert and Gerry. Tragically the tapes were destroyed in a studio fire before I could mix it. As you can imagine I was devasted,.I managed to save a few dodgy rough mixes, but nothing useable. Using Gaudia Lab stem splitter I've managed to recreate the album exactly as I envisioned it. Albert and Gerry are on 6 tracks, the rest are with other members of the classic Hogan's Heros lineup (as on 'Live at 1992 Montreux Jazz Festival'). There's some terrific playing - my personal favourite is 'Whispers'. Their lightning fast picking makes Country Boy sound positively sedate! All proceeds go to dementia research.
Its up on my Bandcamp channel. Matt Dawson-the Lost Album. The full story is on the liner notes.
Cheers,
Matt
